"To ensure that those who need housing can actually afford it, the [Mexican] government will facilitate zero-percent interest mortgages with monthly payments capped at 30 percent of income for eligible low-income households."
Elbows up #con_carney -- follow Claudia Sheinbaum’s lead.

Vancouver drivers:
I was crossing 11th and Burrard (East to West) because the Northbound lane was clear and traffic heading South was stopped at the 12th Avenue light. When I reached the centre line of the (unmarked) crosswalk an SUV driver heading South who had ample time to adjust their speed pulled up directly in front of me. Their action blocked my safe passage requiring a time consuming and potentially dangerous walk around. #Vancouver

"The unsold inventory suggests the system was responding to something else — not unmet housing need, but investor demand, speculation, cheap credit, and expectations of future appreciation." #bcpoli

“It’s very naive to think that we have such awesome parents in this world that they can stand up against the trillion-dollar companies – with their algorithms and their deceitful tools – and be well enough informed to fight the most aggressive technology in the history of human civilisation."

How is it that #con_carney is constantly visiting the UK and France but rarely (if ever) Spain, Finland or Austria?
Quoting
Canada, Following the Rules, Agreements, borrowing Europe's better ideas <- we're supposed to be good at this?
Instead of privatize airports to build Canada, make affordable housing public.
Follow Finland's Munifin and subsidize/ guarantee housing finance. No shortage of demand in Canada. Make financing housing less risky than privatizing airports and building pipelines.
Follow Austria and Vienna's housing association legislation
Have municipalities, worker organizations, and business groups ... collaborate to create affordable housing associations that each benefit from, with solid legislation to prevent compromise and abuse.
But Canada's wealthy and well-financed for-profit housing industry will complain loudly and effectively..
“A non-profit housing system in Austria costs taxpayer money but it is a good investment. It reduces the amounts needed for household subsidies, shifts resources from high-income landlords to more construction and economy-wide consumption, it is a net gain for the economy,”
