@grimalkina I have read this sentence many times and I'm not sure I parse it correctly (I'm not a native speaker). Can someone help? What I think it means:
- Learning to code is hard for many
- Some people point out this fact
- The "tech left" (i.e. people with political opinions about technology who value equality rather than hierarchy) are increasingly intolerant of people pointing it out
- Cat finds this development depressing Is that correct?

Nur eine Sache: Bitte vermeide es, bei der Frage "Social-Media-Verbot für Kinder" Parallelen zu Alkohol/Nikotin zu ziehen, das ist politisch kontraproduktiv und kommuniziert nicht das, was du denkst. Viel besser − und daran merkt man, was für ein Profi er ist − ist der Vergleich von
@socialhack@chaos.social mit dem Radfahren, denn daran kann man verdeutlichen, dass es um Teilhabe geht, und darum, es mit Regeln sicher für alle zu gestalten.

The European law has been passed recently (although watered down from what we had hoped but it's way better than nothing!) It's called the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD): https://commission.europa.eu/business-economy-euro/doing-business-eu/sustainability-due-diligence-responsible-business/corporate-sustainability-due-diligence_en As a directive, it still needs to be implemented by member states in order to have an effect. And it's already under massive political attack

@datenwolf@chaos.social There are a number of legal bases (conditions) for processing to be lawful according to Article 6 (1) of the GDPR, and only one needs to be met. I think you are talking about condition (b) – if it's necessary for performing or preparing a contract. Consenting into processing for specific purposes is another valid legal basis: condition (a). Whether actual consent banners meet the conditions for consent laid out in Article 7 is another discussion though. @Fiona@blahaj.zone @david_chisnall@infosec.exchange

The German law (Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz, LkSG) which predates the CSDDD is weaker in some important respects, e.g. it doesn't have liability so people in the supply chain can't directly sue companies based on this law, but stronger in others. It's also threatened politically so we must fight for both this year
