Good, I've been thinking about that dog that the police made the owners leave behind. I'm glad they went and got it. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c65y7nl29k0et?post=asset%3Aea736565-8e5c-488e-a767-7f1ab0223048#post #Fairford

Hmm, you don't arrest people on suspicion of terrorism, with all of the extras you get (like two weeks to question them) and then let them out on bail after a couple of days, if they were actually terrorists (they can't be associated with Palestine Action in any way then).
They were a long way from London though, but there are lots of illegal activities that would have been greased by mocking up vans with fake logos: various illegal countryside bloodsports (badger baiting, hare coursing), fly tipping, just regular drugs/stolen goods transfers.
It is an awful coincidence to be found quite so close to an RAF base being used by the US though. But as we saw with the murders of Albert Alfonso and Paul Longworth, the location isn't necessarily related in any way to the crime (seriously, nobody in Bristol would try to dump human remains off Clifton suspension bridge - it's covered in cameras, there's other counter measures to prevent jumpers).

@swisslet@mas.to oh yes, I've seen those. The stats also haven't gone anywhere, they are all on the app, it's pure ego that they want them front and centre on the website.

I would love #parkrun to be more explicitly trans-inclusive, but for their lack of desire/ability to enforce participants use their government IDs (which can (at least currently) be changed to accurately reflect gender rather than sex assigned at birth anyway) and all of the privacy concerns that such verification entails - they are threatened by a well-funded and rabid mob of literally a handful of people.

@TheDailyBurble@mastodon.social for whatever reason they (the government and its subsidiaries) need to account for domestic animals in any evacuation order. Anyone who has watched Saving Lives at Sea knows this: the RNLI will go out for stranded pets because they know their owners will risk their lives for them. It's very basic psychology and I was surprised that the owners were originally instructed to leave the dog behind.

A reminder that their latest protest is scheduled for this Saturday (3rd October) so if you just happen to be wearing trans flag colours (light blue, pink and white) that might be a nice visual response. I will be in my TransFC football shirt, and as always my trans flag wristband. I might add a trans flag ribbon too.

Pottering about in the garden and the peace and quiet is shattered by the neighbour's child screaming 'Daddy, pay attention to me'. Kudos for knowing what you want (attention) and how to get it (screaming), I guess.

Well having read the latest in the Leicestershire saga, they really should have had legal representation. Nobody seemed to realise that the two different penalties would both be applied. The CDP has no power over the 19 point deduction, but have wiped 8 of what are supposed to be a minimum 16 point deduction due to 27 points just being too many.

@TheDailyBurble@mastodon.social hopefully they'll be updating the emergency plans that they said they had prepared in advance and swiftly rolled out to include not leaving dependent animals alone when evacuating people for an unknown amount of time.

@TheDailyBurble@mastodon.social not the finest moments from all levels: security service, military, and police. Thank goodness for nosey neighbours and partying farmers.

Jaime being in the dance off was a bit of a shock, but she was in the dangerous middle of the table. All we found out was that the public voted for the people below her (other than Chris) more than her. Chris was ranked bottom 2 by the judges, so no surprise that he has gone. #Strictly
