@ne1for23@betweenthelions.link that said, have you seen this? it uses a GPT backend to generate sonograms of music based on prompts, from there it can "play" them as audio/music https://techcrunch.com/2022/12/15/try-riffusion-an-ai-model-that-composes-music-by-visualizing-it/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAGIZTCcXiq7DR2Whi7iNqjD83cuvquuZJJF97D0qVcWkIsPjtF-9LhXNbli650bxw5DFVg3x0b5LNrcPa51ShLKT9uey8usqJp_Yrg1EM2CK_GrHiZd1UA2aoAZQHnyL1UziDvnS7Ch_Pqu5wzCMl03YxckHHmzq3us-_XxfjQFh
@ne1for23@betweenthelions.link I wouldn’t use riffusion as a metric of any kind. It’s more a unique “hey that’s cool” kind of oddball experiment. The model it’s using was never trained on audio as I understand it but images. Hence the sonogram generation. It was only kinda after the fact someone tried “playing” it as an actual audio track. Still hella impressive given it wasn’t it’s original intention.

@ne1for23@betweenthelions.link And a couple of years ago? OpenAI themselves created "JukeBox" .. so its not a massive stretch to imagine the same for SID music generation, create a tune from a prompt, reference some trained data on music/styles, render the tune down to the limitations of the SID music parameters / capabilities (eg 3 channel MIDI type for example),
apply that to what it knows about the structure of a SID file = PROFIT $$$... lol.. https://openai.com/blog/jukebox/
So I was trolling my FB feed and I noticed this post, see if you can recognize these famous sci-fi actors (no trek is not their franchise) .. Turns out they visited the same Trek Original Series Set tour I did not too long before I went. ..
