I’ve made a couple more prints from a modified version of my song sparrow on a crabapple branch, plus a couple of little doodle blocks that turned into landscapes. (Such fun! And basically instant-gratification carving.) I think I’m done with the song sparrow for now, though I might play with it a little more eventually. (Again, song sparrow based on a photo by @handmade_ghost@sunny.garden ) #EntingPrints

My desmodium is blooming! And the coneflowers are starting! I’m particularly excited about getting to do pollinator surveys for the desmodium (for a Vermont Center for Ecostudies project).

I’ve been working on this woodcut block today, finally feeling like I’m making good progress. (Song sparrow in a crabapple tree, based on a photo by @handmade_ghost@sunny.garden)

@handmade_ghost@sunny.garden Would you pass on some scritches to both her and Fell?

@handmade_ghost Assuming you don’t mind, I might use this as a woodcut reference.

@handmade_ghost@sunny.garden It looks so much yellower than an eastern kingbird! Pretty! (We got a nice, long look at an eastern kingbird this morning 😍)

@idzie@kolektiva.social I’ve only seen them swimming!

@lemon Do the flowers smell terrible? (Bradford pears are pretty but don’t smell good.)

@RIJim@mastodon.social Thanks!

@magsol@quinnwitz.house Sadly, I’m not really a computational biologist, but I’ve passed that along to some colleagues who are. (Thanks!)

@kimu@wandering.shop , possibly of interest?

@Jgbird@mas.to May I use this as a reference image for a woodcut?

@Jgbird@mas.to Thanks!
