Apart from being a quite senior software engineer with management experience, a specialisation in fintech and card networks, and a talent for reading hundreds of pages of standards and docs and being really pedantic about them - I’m a jack of all trades, with a silly broad range of experiences, and enjoy novelty and variety.

I miss walking around London. You can pick a random spot on the map and there's probably some weird stuff there, that wasn't so much designed as it emerged across hundreds of years of people bodging things, and occasionally throwing too much money at problems, sometimes at the same time.
Clashing architecture and winding paths in nonsensical shapes. Cracks between buildings and back alleys leading nowhere, or sometimes to liminal nowhere-places. Buildings repurposed again and again, until nobody can remember what it was originally for.

shoutouts to this car park, which manages to somehow block every conceivable sightline you'd want, and has the main exit route suddenly turn into a two-lane, two-way street around a corner, which is only signed *on the road surface*, where you can't see it due to the aforementioned sightlines
I'm not sure I can think of any more ways to fuck up a car park

I used to do this kind of thing back when I lived in Sweden, mostly by simply making friends with people who do things that are important, but not primarily on the computer - it helps that my dad is a music teacher and works for the Church of Sweden, and you don't get much more offline than that
