Reddit User Uncovers Who Is Behind #Meta’s $2B Lobbying for Invasive Age Verification Tech https://www.gadgetreview.com/reddit-user-uncovers-who-is-behind-metas-2b-lobbying-for-invasive-age-verification-tech

@j12t@j12t.social Honestly, I don’t really understand why many developers keep overlooking Elgg. We’ve built a full-featured federated ecosystem on top of it, from stores to communities, and it’s working well in production. I’m planning to publish our release soon, and it’s going to be big. For now, you can already explore and use the current codebase. https://github.com/Elgg/Elgg @silverpill@mitra.social @julian @fedimtl @ozoned @reiver@mastodon.social @johannab@cosocial.ca @paige@masto.canadiancivil.com @mayel

@silverpill@mitra.social Of course. Elgg supports all types of groups, including private ones (this depends on the settings of the corresponding plugin). Here’s an example of how it looks — this is a public group with ActivityPub enabled: https://demo.wzm.me/activitypub/groups/165/ @fedimtl @general

@silverpill@mitra.social Also #Elgg https://github.com/RiverVanRain/activitypub @julian @fedimtl @ozoned @reiver@mastodon.social @johannab@cosocial.ca @j12t@j12t.social @paige@masto.canadiancivil.com @mayel

@liaizon@social.wake.st Great! ✌️

@silverpill@mitra.social As for private groups, right now you’ll see more notifications than actual posts. I think our team will provide a full implementation in the near future. But to reiterate, at the moment this already works on the federation level. You’re underestimating the power of Elgg 🙂 @fedimtl @general
