You know what screws up a csv import? Embedded csv. FML.

If Docker, Inc. went bankrupt, nothing fundamental breaks: the tooling is replaceable, and the standards are independent and long-standing.

Stacked diffs have helped my velocity for a couple of years. For me they’re a mitigation rather than a fix – the real bottleneck is cycle time, which is more a culture and coaching problem than a tooling one.

It’s made me wonder whether GitHub Flow is the right default for every team, or just the one we were given by GitHub. Forgejo and Codeberg feel well placed to explore genuine workflow alternatives rather than simply mirror GitHub.

I’ve been experimenting with agent-friendly git clients that help with stacking. Anyone else heading in a similar direction?

A sentence per paragraph, introduces lots of more whitespace. It makes things harder to read not easier. There's more cognitive load and my eyes. They have to scan more. Adding an emoji doesn't make anything clearer. It's like adding an exclamation mark to the end of every sentence. Keep your em-dashes, but please be considerate about how white space is used.

Anyone used git-stack? I like jujitsu but never going to get the team to adopt, the lift isn't worth it.

If I were a browser vendor, and I wanted to differentiate from Chrome. I'd just run Typescript natively.

Hindsight: the decision to sack Sue Gray is looking more and more like the chaos with Ed Milliband or David Cameron decision.

I don't know what the future brings. We need to leverage this generation-defining technology as a multiplier, and stay curious enough to ask whether fast satisfaction is the same thing as progress.
