Even Charles Darwin had bad days. Also I'll put good money that he'd have used Tumblr were he around today.

I'm a 40 year old Jack Of All Trades, still trying to make a place for myself in the world. I still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

I am super chuffed, waking up to the news that Green Party of England and Wales won in Gorton & Denton.
It's genuine hope of an alternative to Labour, and the potential of actual Solarpunk future here in the UK.
I would encourage you to join the party, and even volunteer or stand at your next local election. While you're at it, join and support your local Co-operatives.

Having a proud parental feel right now. Daughter insisted on going to the gym today, and genuinely put the effort in. Plenty of complaining of 'Too heavy' and 'Legs tired' but she pushed through, and says she wants to go again next week.
Brick by brick.
Little Ride Around
Ok, actually not so little, went for a couple of hours this Sunday morning to stretch the legs a bit.

Here, have some good news for a change. Nutritional supplements for bees that apparently works ridiculously well!

Blog time!
After 9 years, it’s time to retire my distinctive leather biker jacket (right).
It has seen me through all kinds of weather and events, worn many a patch and pin, and I’ve painted the back at least 3 times.

I just realised this might be the first time in 20 years that the April Fools joke of "They're bringing back Firefly." is actually true.
Today I did a round trip of 160 miles to Great Yarmouth and back to join my daughter for her 19th birthday.
She had a great time and we're back home now enjoying cake.
First time I'd ever ridden that far or long in a single day. And the weather was absolutely perfect (though chilly this morning).
I know very little Linux compared to my linux using friends, but I know far more than those who've never touched it.
But I managed to get Jellyfin running on Yunohost, and succesfully mounted a network drive, which was giving me so much difficulty until I remember it's an OLD NAS, and only has SMB version 1.
Either case, SUCCESS!!!
The problem with DIY approaches is that when it comes time to troubleshoot problems you gotta deal with the bastid in the mirror.
Went for a stupid fucking walk for my stupid fucking mental health, and I'm still pissed off at my corner of the world.
Fun question. If you were able to forget everything about a single movie or franchise so you could rewatch it with brand new eyes, experiencing it for the first time, what movie would that be?
Frustrating AuDHD day. Brain is firing on all cylinders but doing an impression of pretzel baked by MC Escher.
It's loud and brilliant in here, but holding on to a single strand of thought is like catching fog in your hands.
(No 'advice' plz, k thx)

I understand he was everyone's childhood legend, but don't get too reverential about Norris. He might have done a lot of good, but he was also anti same-sex marriage and an Obama 'birther' conspiracy theoriest. No celebrity deserves a throne.
Spent far too long recovering a music album from a video game that's no longer available on Steam.
SAVE. YOUR. MEDIA. OFFLINE.
Also enjoy some space cowboy/firefly/mars music.

Greatest life hack I ever learned?
Using a cheese slicer on a cold block of butter.
Sadly, one of my 2TB hard drives has spun it's last spin and perished at the most expensive time to replace a hard drive due to stupid tech companies artificially inflating hardware prices globally.
(Thankfully, ya boy isn't a complete idiot and has regular backups)
I hate the rich so bloody much.
I'm now a First Aid At Work certified.
Please form an orderly queue with your job offers, thank you.
Wrote a little blog post about Windows and Linux, just surface thoughts because it's still morning.

GODDAMNIT, IT WAS A KERNEL UPDATE YOU SONOFABITCH.
It's all ok now. I think.
I just had lovely ride.
55 miles there and back, went to help some nearest and dearest with packing up their place.
Marauder was in fine fettle, and I'm getting more confident and comfortable with her. Can definitely feel the better grip in the rear tire too.
Also comfortable enough to put on some music on the Cardo. Unit controls still need getting used to, but I'll get the hang of that too eventually.
New tyre and MOT passed!
Motorbike is now 100% and I'm planning my next ride!
Right, second attempt.
Motorbike is getting it's rear tire replaced, and then doing an MOT again.
And with any luck by this afternoon I'll have a Marauder in tip top condition and can start planning longer rides.
I did my first commute on a motorbike in rush hour.
That makes me a grown-up, right?
Another fun-filled afternoon of job applications. Some of are meh, some of them are 'ooooh interesting', one is 'This would tick all the boxes of having a meaningful and worthwhile career helping others if I can get my foot in the door'.
By the by, if ya fancy showing your support in subtle ways, I highly recommend the pin badge.

Listening to the Artemis II live stream and I hear Koch say "Amaze, Amaze, Amaze," in a Rocky voice.
So I just burst out laughing.

Why do I have such an unreasonable dislike of Harley Davidsons vs any other motorcycle manufacturer?
To me, it feels like they're constantly espoused as the greatest, but coasting along on only historic achievements and subjective nostalgia or nationalistic pride (American Spirit/Freedom/Yada yada).
Maybe I've internalised a lot of anti-American sentiment, but let's face it, you can't blame anyone for that.
Just woke up after a really crappy night's sleep to find my PC misbehaving. No network, no GPU, and it's far too early for this bullshit. I've got shit to do and today's not the day to test me.
Maybe I'm being oversensitive, but fucking hell that bullshit from last night has gotten itself stuck in my brain and pisses me off so much.
Reddit may have shot itself in the foot with the enshittification gun, by getting rid of r/all.
Ya know, THE Frontpage.
Just once I'd like to be told "You look like the kind of person at a funeral I'd wonder if you had something to do with it."
Had a dream of a Utopian Scholastic type shope I used to work in.
Gods I miss that place.
Doing my first proper commute on the bike tomorrow. Never ridden the bike in rush hour, but I've no plans on filtering yet, so we'll see how that goes.
Probably overthinking it, but AuDHD does not let anxious thoughts go easily.
Today was rough, exhausting, and frustrating, not least because of shitty customers are work.
Don't be that person that hovers in a worker's personal space when they're reducing products.
DND Hivemind!
Are there any guides or stories or resources about the people who build the dungeons and temples? Like are there construction companies, guilds, clans, etc who get commissioned? Or perhaps like specialist teams, dwarven guild builds the structure, but kobolds install the traps?

Today is definitely more of a struggle than I expected.
Went for a ride from Clacton to Colchester and back.
Totally did not misread the dentist appointment on my calendar. Nope.
So... bonus ride tomorrow I guess,
People freaking out that Jim Carrey doesn't look like he did when he filmed Ace Ventura.... THIRTY TWO YEARS AGO.
And here comes the post-interview crash. All the unmasking, all the slouching, all the muscles relaxin and probably a mood drop.
The constant self-analysis, self-doubt and 'L'esprit de l'escalier'.
Damnit.
Oh well.
Fourth time's the charm?
Another day, another job application rejection.
Oh joy. More Stranger Things. Hurray... /S
