1990s PDA keyboard meets 2020s personal device :-) #psion Best tiny keyboard ever made.

@AndiBarth@muenchen.social I was lucky enough to be able to get one of @rasmusb's USB-C adapters for my (veteran but broken) 5mx's keyboard. Still need to figure out a proper case solution.

@debcha@saturation.social As a CS undergrad doing much of my coursework on a VAX at the time, this book really connected with me too.

@leymoo @Theresacityinmymind The UK switchover from analogue strowger to System X (& System Y), took a very long time, most of the 80s and into the 90s before it was completed. It did however leapfrog the crossbar systems used in other countries, going straight from electro-mechanical to digital. I do recall various UK universities and employers I was at in the early 80s having fully digital PABX systems ahead of the PSTN going digital. It's possible but unlikely the chat room was a PABX digital conference bridge, but I suspect the analogue theory is more plausible.

@revk Perhaps the UK's public service broadcasters could step up ? Might be an idea worth tossing into the current consultation on the BBC's charter, there are certainly stranger ideas being mooted around that.
