as part of larger degoogling endeavours, I've migrated my email to migadu mail. their webmail client looks neat, they're not throwing upsells for $AI_TOOL in my face all the time, and i don't have to worry about big brother's ad trackers. though, my first mail to a google acc went straight to spam.
if all works well, i'll be subscribing to their micro plan and moving my other 5 or so accounts on there as well. i like that it doesn't abstract away (all) the complexities of email, so you have to set up your DNS records yourself and what not.

On Python 3.12 and newer, generic classes implicitly inherit from...
On older versions of Python, however, generic classes have to
explicitly inherit from Generic.
i am albanian type checker because of poor technology you have to declare generics yourself

@godfat@mastodon.social "flattening" is a strange concept that you can tell exists mostly as an excuse to justify evil things.
a flatter organisation does not imply a leaner organisation. you can consolidate managerial layers in a way that flattens the tree while keeping the same number of nodes. a layoff activity and a flattening activity are separate things.
"we have 7 layers" is a really opaque term. where do your layers start and where do they end? ive seen places that have like, super junior engineers who aren't necessarily /hierarchically/ junior to the "higher" pay grade.

@ernie@writing.exchange @tedium@social.tedium.co agree with quitting social media sites being hard, but i struggle to see the dark pattern here. my understanding of a dark pattern is that it has to be mala fide by definition. typing a few characters of a URL leading to the top entry of your history seems to be quite benign. i imagine most people in that situation would want to open facebook when f a is typed.
