mastodon 4.8.0-nightly.2026-10-06Restless by nature. Concerned about a world where privacy is taken for granted. I love technology but even more human rights. Advances are only useful if they are useful to the majority of people.

New project. I'm installing #Debian on an old laptop with a broken screen (#Chuwi #Herobook). I’m going to install #Pihole to block ads on all my devices, and I’m also going to use it as a media server for movies and TV shows once I stop paying my ISP for my internet connection and #Netflix and #HBO. That way, I’ll regain control of my connection, block ads, and avoid being overwhelmed by a sea of digital options (I’ll provide internet access via tethering from my smartphone).
The mandatory developer registration that Google is imposing on Android is causing concern among developers in countries subject to sanctions, anonymous open-source contributors, and anyone who creates privacy or security tools. Google has a documented history of complying with government demands to remove apps.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social I’ve just changed to iOS and I don’t use their ecosystem or Google or Microsoft or Meta (with exception of WhatsApp). I’ve changed:
- Google Drive —> Koorf
- Microsoft Office and Google Documents —> Onlyoffice
- Google Maps —> Here Maps
- Google Search —> Startpage
- Keep and Onenote —> Standart Notes
- Gmail —> Protonmail
- Google Calendar —> Proton Calendar

And all of them for free (and almost all from Europe).
For iOS and MacOS. And sometimes in Linux Mint
