Why are so many Canadians ignorant of the fact that wildfires will continue to get worse unless fossil fuel burning is drastically reduced? Chris Hatch of Canada's National Observer has some answers. Good article. Note the Natural Resources Canada map. https://www.nationalobserver.com/2026/07/27/opinion/climate-change-media-coverage-impacts?nih=gNQYgkQRIZM4htpIdfOh2gsy5I-siRYRRhwJOR_Yegc #Wildfire #Canada #FossilFuels #ClimateChange

@samlitzinger@journa.host Soccer rules for everyone else, but Calvinball rules for the USA: just make up the rules as you go along. Just the way Trump plays golf: only HE is allowed to win. Everybody else might as well stay home.

@NorcalGma2@sfba.social Good that you listened to Summer. The sole on my last hiking boots peeled right off 7 km from my car. I had to shuffle all of those kms back, dragging the almost fully-detached sole slowly under my hiking sock.

The courageous resistance shown by these CDC officials is what we should expect from scientists generally. My greatest respect to them.
