I just realized I have hard time formulating in a brief and systematic way what exactly do I check during a code review. I had a similar issue when I had to setup a checklist for the interview processes... With my abstract mind all runs on "it doesn't fit". If I try to make a checklist, it becomes and excessive crap that even I don't follow. Doesn't click well when you try to share it with others... Do you have any similar experiences and how do you manage? #adhd #softwareengineering

Testing my #phpstorm without the side toolbars. With the double-shift and action search it is not that bad... BTW I had it crash for the first time ever.... Still don't know what caused it, may be the 600k files in the project and ... God knows.

I have some philosophical thoughts on #AI and how "it will kill us all", the job market impact and etc... in an ideal world if AI could take over all things and we could lay back and relax or aim for the stars now that we have automated life on earth. But in reality our brain would still not allow us... We're wired for scarcity, for survival. I was not going any direction with this... just thoughts... may be "just enjoy the ride" as an outcome :)

I just caught myself that I mix up the use of nullable type-hinting and the default value for a function param for when it's skipped. A basic thing but my mind has the habit of playing tricks on me :)

A network cable from a wall socket, plugged in the adjacent socket, just caused us a 2h office outage, because of network loop :) I am a developer but luckily for me, we had the same issue in an office 15y ago when our IT lead was lurking the floor with a machete in his hand to find out that someone was too bred during a meeting. So teach your colleagues to resist the urge to shove network cables around... some things are ok to stay loose :)

Some big-brain #UX master in Facebook figured out that when you "cancel" a comment under a post, the two options you should have in the confirmation are "go back" and "continue"...

I love how #ai companies now suddenly get concerned about humanity... accidentally as their revenue from ai sinks... Of there were money coming, I bet they would be building armies to fight off the thirsty citizens from their ai centers... I hope we learno from a small mistake this time.. a tiny one, not a " that was huge back then" kind of memory.

@seaborgium1234@mastodon.social I am thinking in that direction as well, but current general social system doesn't accept it and we're still a herd-driven species... Also this is an evolution of the mind and as I observe, more abstract thoughts are not a skill of the mass public, to absorb the general idea and evolve it actively... May be we're rushing too much... it just takes "that much time" to improve... just 120y ago there were discussions "does the woman have soul" so :)

@sebastian@phpc.social Good takea nd this is, I guess where the separation on pro/anti-AI and vibe coding goes - whether you need the software to be precise and whether you can manually validate the produced logic on an acceptable level. Vibe-coding of sites and small systems is a complete win and on the other side are old entangled domains and legacy software that domain knowledge is literally held in people's memory.
