mastodon 4.7.3DJ2MN is a sound artist who transgresses not just boundaries but even the transgression of boundaries. His work inverts and deconstructs conventional artistic motifs through the subversion of techniques applied at the intersection of transformative destruction and holistic healing, resulting in a nexus of shockingly disparate aesthetics. His oeuvre is an incomparable monument to the boundless creativity within us all, but particularly within him.

@burgerdrome@aus.social maybe try free to air? My 10+ year old 27” Samsung Tv still going great and doesn’t spy on me because it can’t.
(Funny story, when the antenna distribution system in our apartment block died recently, we were the only ones to complain. We already knew we were the weird old couple in the building but that proved it decisively 🤪 We tried using The Internet while it was off but the experience was too awful, much as you describe in fact.)

@tante@tldr.nettime.org @jimbob@aus.social suddenly kicking myself for not coming to that realisation the other day when discussing (with members of my pilates class) how we don't know so many facts any more, except we can remember how we searched for the answer on the internet so only need to repeat the search to get to the fact again. Of course, same will happen with AI & bigger cognitive tasks. Of course it will.

@unfnknblvbl@aus.social @burgerdrome@aus.social Fortunately for me there's nothing on Netflix that really appeals so I don't subscribe. I have an old rev2 AppleTV which is slowly becoming more incompatible with everything (something something HDMI something?) but I can still stream from my phone or iPad in an emergency. As mentioned earlier tho the whole experience is pretty awful and I was very glad to get my FTA back and not have to dick around with the tech. One area I'm entirely comfortable being a luddite in :)

OTOH Sunrise by NO is like the best thing that ever came out of that whole era basically so yeah I dunno. (having just had it on at volume for the first time in a long while; that wall of sound from the mix of raw synth and guitars is astonishing on the album and was turned up to 12 when I saw them do it live at The Enmore circa '87)
