is it a good sign when the national weather service runs out of pre-assigned colors to depict temperature?

Fun fact - I'm not on one of these instances, but I donate to @stux as the diversity and health of the Fediverse is in all of our interest... and those are some well run servers...
(and storage for all these awesome cat pics is expensive)

This seems so obvious that it feels silly to even say it... but if your "leadership" consists of having a chat bot write "motivational" or (worse -- FAR FAR WORSE) "strategic" missives for you, and then send those out to "your people", don't be surprised if they won't be "your people" much longer.
The complete failure of leadership, being replaced by "leadership" at large companies is heartbreaking. But of course, every inflection point creates opportunities.
The chat bot led teams (and companies) will fail, and actual leaders will find many ways to make a difference and advance.
The way I try to dumb this down for the people in the back is this: "if you can't be bothered to write this, I can't be bothered to read it..."

Few people realize how much credibility they lose once it’s clear their writings and actions are output from ChatGPT and Claude.
If you’re a leader who uses AI in such a noticeable manner (and people notice even if you think they don’t), it’s shooting yourself in the foot in the worst way possible.

As always, I am in awe with Cory @pluralistic@mamot.fr

Adblocking, dickover blocking and other customizations are a way for you to bargain back, to answer the opening bid of "How about you give me all of your data forever and let me do anything I want with it?" with "How about 'nah?'"

I use Waterfox for oft discussed reasons. And all the plugins he mentions (and a few more) to keep my web experience semi-tolerable. And of course kagi.com for search...

Easy.
Add a ChatBot that you auto-opt-in everybody to use and then start charging money for the "added value" this provides, while making it essentially impossible to opt out.
(also: this clearly is working well for a bunch of companies, so sadly this isn't as funny as I want it to be)

SEEEE - that's the problem... you just need to force the good guys to use AI and then you WIN!!!

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social but Kevin, the only way to fight the AI threat is with AI. Every vendor tells us so.
And then you need the AI to orchestrate the AI agents that are fighting the AI attacks.
In the meantime your outsourced helpdesk resets admin passwords on the phone...
