The more work experience you have in different environments, the more you'll come to understand this guy has it absolutely right: https://andrewmurphy.io/blog/if-you-thought-the-speed-of-writing-code-was-your-problem-you-have-bigger-problems

AI coding tools are optimising the wrong thing and nobody wants to hear it. Writing code was already fast. The bottleneck is everything else: unclear requirements, review queues, terrified deploy cultures, and an org chart that needs six meetings to decide what colour the button should be.

So I was watching (or I am watching) the Q&A on Swift concurrency and I lost my mind when @holly@hachyderm.io mentioned async calls in defer bodies (for async methods only) is not only planned but also implemented for Swift 6.4! (ref: https://github.com/swiftlang/swift-evolution/blob/main/proposals/0493-defer-async.md) How did I not know about this before!? Thank you @swiftlang@mastodon.social team!

@simonlou@typo.social The icon looks very cool! I'm excited to see this - I'm working on my spare time on a custom Invoicing solution that supports automatic Invoice reporting back to the Spanish tax agency.

@natpanferova I'm excited to see you there! I saw your SwiftUI talk recently (was it iOS Conf SG?) wherein you blew my mind with the fact of closures in SwiftUI View inits mean SwiftUI can't detect whether something has changed because it can't do closure comparison.

So, when building a Mac Catalyst app and running it with Xcode 26.4 and matching macOS, in “Scaled for iPad" mode instead of the other “more Mac" option of the toggle, it's absolutely ignoring 90% the time when being asked to hide NavBar navigation items / titles.

I... this is what you get under Catalyst for applying a .glassEffect(.regular) to a GroupBox. Xcode 26.4. I guess it's because I'm still using the 2019 Intel Mac Pro?

(Please note the irony on the last sentence)

@simonlou@typo.social So, the Spanish Tax Agency wants all invoices to be locally signed, then uploaded to them with a signature hash that can include the preceding Invoice in a "series" (each series' Invoice must have a corresponding increasing number / ID attached) if applicable, and then they return a status such as 'OK'. Then, when printing / exporting the Invoice after the upload, you must attach a QR code. This QR code is essentially a link to the Spanish Tax Agency with the ID and signature of the uploaded Invoice as part of the URL so the invoice can be contrasted via the Tax Agency records that indeed this Invoice is 'verified'. The QR Code opens the website and triggers a Tax Agency search for a matching record, and displays the result as the website. Additionally, which is what I've also added to my app, you can check as a standard API instead of website to get 'does this record exist?' It's not complicated API, except for the fact I think it belongs in the 2000s because it's SOAP and XML. But they have "decent" (by Spanish standards) documentation and have replied quickly to my questions (I wish they did the same for taxes, not APIs!) This will be mandatory starting next year, and it's being treated as a big cash grab / funnel through which existing apps get paid MONTHLY! to access your data, even though the tax agency APIs are all free. There's no form of gatekeeping whatsoever around making a product for this. 'No thanks' was my answer, so I wrote my own thing. Well, I'm in the process of it. They have matching servers as a 'test environment' for every possible request so, I have confidence I can 'emit' proper Invoices when I decide to toggle the APIs to talk to the real thing. There is a 'free' app available to all Spanish citizens, but it's a really really bad webapp.
