We’ve prepared a new example showing how to create billboarding in your games! 🌲

It includes two modes:
- always face the camera - like the smoke ☁️
- lock rotation to a vertical axis - trees and rocks🌲🪨

We combined here 3D models by @KayLousberg@mastodon.social and 2D screenshots of 3D models by @kenney@mastodon.gamedev.place for trees and rocks!

Defold 1.12.4 brings more than just the new Free Camera mode in Scene View - it also makes 3D navigation feel much smoother, with:

- improved smoother zooming
- continuous seamless zooming and orbiting as the cursor wraps around the editor window

You can change scripts, assets, GUI files, collections, materials, and many other project resources, then hot reload them quickly.

Here, we’re testing different parameters for a cascaded shadow mapping implementation in the upcoming FPS template.
