New hobby: I started learning to use a sewing machine about a year and a half ago, first to hem my pants (very useful when you’re 5’2”) and then for more fun things. This summer I am making a 32”x32” quilt and am *almost* done — it’s been about 2 hours from being done for the past 4-6 hours now, haha. Here’s a preview, the kit/pattern is “Abstractions” by Tara Faughnan. #quilting #modernquilt
The Great blue heron is back at the marsh near my home and I was lucky enough to get him in flight on video #FootpathFriday

Most exciting (and fun to watch!) basketball game of the season: 7th/8th grade boys, grey vs yellow. My son plays on grey and they came back from an 11 point deficit (and not once in the lead) to win 43-42. Excellent playing considering the other team was quite a bit taller! They were highly motivated to win so they’re in a higher bracket for playoffs next week. 😝 Hopefully they play with that same energy then!
Rabbit tracks! Pretty nice definition of the toes, I don’t see that often.
I have a new (Apple) computer. I’m being picky about what I put on there. What browser are we using these days? Librefox?
Friday night and I need a big ole heaping glass of whisky.
Derry Girls: what a fantastic show. Or should I say class?
Happy St Patrick’s Day set. I’ve been learning Kid on the Mountain (third piece, starts around 3:20) — it’s very long but so much fun to play. Love the inclusion of the double bass in this version. #session https://youtu.be/YUmeYTP31s4?si=vUw0VSJ2qrnktiyI
A friend of mine is using ChatGPT as a career coach as she searches for a new job. Given my general feelings on the subject, I’m surprised that I’m feeling tempted to do the same — though that’s probably because my own internal monologue is hitting too many walls. Anybody done this and/or have thoughts about it? Bad idea? Good idea?
I was a little skeptical of this one at first because the title made me chuckle, but I really like it, so I’m adding it to my ever growing list. #session https://thesession.org/tunes/1388
