I bought myself one of those fancy music devices.

Bubbles is such a great idea, and it’s been implemented fantastically.
It reminds me of an idea I’ve had myself for a very long time, and also was what eventually became Miniroll. https://bubbles.town
Some of my favourite videos on YouTube are >1 hour videos where someone has just put a camera on the front of a train in Japan and just pressed record.
I just watch Adam Mosseri's introduction to the new Instants feature, and from what I've found, I'm one of a small number of people that like the idea. https://www.instagram.com/p/DYSOY_DBkKN/?hl=en
England to Rotterdam: https://micro.chrishannah.me/2026/05/09/england-to-rotterdam.html
I went on a bit of a different style of trip last weekend. My partner found there was a ferry from England to the Hook of Holland, including overnight options with cabins, and also day journeys.
We went for a Friday night trip with a cabin so we could sleep, and then coming back bank holiday Monday daytime. It’s certainly a mode of transport I’m interested in trying for other trips in the future.

I shared a quick preview of an app I was building recently, and it’s in a pretty good state right now, so I thought it was a good time to share more information.
In short, it’s a Micro.blog client for Mac.
To go into more detail, it’s a way for me to use Micro.blog that tries to focus more on publishing, and less on scrolling. It’s intentionally slow, and “misses” a few features.
There are four tabs on the right of the app:

A quick preview of what i’ve been creating recently:
There’s loads of strikes on the London Underground this week. So instead of a 15 min ride on the Circle line, I decided to walk from Tower of London to Euston. Apple Maps said 1 hour 30 mins. I managed it just under an hour!
Considering the constant weaving through tourists and slow walkers, it still managed to be a good walk.
My blog now has one-way messaging support. Who knows how this is going to turn out. https://chrishannah.me
I took a few photos on my iPhone 17 Pro with the default camera app earlier (front facing camera), and i was suprised with how good they turned out. My only thought was it must be the lighting as the UK is having a heatwave right now, and the sun is well and truly out.
Turns out I had the exposure set at +2.0 the whole time.
I might do this more often.
I’ve been updating my blog’s theme over the past few days, and it feels a bit less bland than before I think. Now it roughly follows the tokyo night colour scheme, each post type os styled with a different accent, and a bunch of other small modifications that make it overall more readable. https://chrishannah.me
Starting to sketch out a new app idea with Claude. This one is going to be for the Mac only.
