about the plans to retire big-endian ppc/ppc64 support: https://chimera-linux.org/news/2026/03/retiring-powerpc.html
this is not happening yet for a few more months but will happen unless the maintenance situation changes drastically (i.e. unless someone actually maintains it and makes it usable and sustainable)

reminder that LLMs/"AI" are always unethical and we have project-wide policy against their usage
the official meaning of cports is cute ports, don't let anyone tell you otherwise
any effort to put xlibre in chimera will be rejected on the technical basis of the maintainers being reactionary dipshits
following the previously announced timeframe, the big-endian ppc64 and ppc builders have been shut down and removed from the infrastructure
cports will remain as is but there will be no more fixes; existing big endian specific tweaks will remain until they start getting in the way, at which point they will be dropped one by one
package repos for the dropped architectures will remain frozen for the time being
ppc64le for power8+ remains a first-tier platform
currently supported targets:
- aarch64
- loongarch64
- ppc64le
- riscv64
- x86_64
