I'm leaving tech.lgbt for the same reason everyone is leaving tech.lgbt. But I still have enough mutuals here that I'd like to keep in touch with. I might create a second account on another instance for different local discussions, but we'll see.

But the dogpiling of people who express a *slightly* different opinion or viewpoint on the discourse du jour? Or for focusing on different issues than the ones you prioritize? Or for not having progressive language perfectly mastered? Or based on who we follow? Stop this insanity. I know a lot of us trans people are wounded from life. From years of repression. From myriad obstacles society throws at us. We're all carrying around some pain and have our defenses up as a result. And that defensiveness spills over into interactions within our own community. But let's treat *each other* -- and our allies -- with a lot more compassion. And assume others within our community, and adjacent to our community, are acting in good faith until they've demonstrated otherwise. Because, hard as it may be to believe, most of us are. Social media, and trans Twitter in particular, needs to take the temperature down about 100 degrees. More light, less heat. And a *lot* more patience. Love one another. 💙💙💙

I'm in one of those times where I've almost forgotten what gender euphoria feels like.

Not even experiencing terrible dysphoria, just feeling very disconnected from any sense of gender identity.

It's funny, for me, DVD movies were a godsend after years of having to use the tape rewinder before returning a VHS to Blockbuster! (Spell check doesn't even recognize the word rewinder anymore! 😬 )

In fairness!!! That Postal Service album was one of those sleeper hits that didn't really enter the mainstream until like a year+ later. It definitely was NOT on 13-year-old me's radar in February 2003.
