For the geek-intersection of #jewish and #science_fiction - if you travel back in time to before the giving of the torah, are you bound by it? That is, does your obligation bind to *you* (so you are), or does it bind to the torah itself (which in this time does not yet exist)? I suspect there are actually relevant sources, as this type of question comes up with other things (like vows). Do you know a source?https://judaism.codidact.com/posts/296209

My father had an ancient Mac laptop that I couldn't wipe (one of the feline OSs; wipe wanted CDs). I went to the Apple store for help (either wipe or remove the hard drive so I can recycle). It drew some attention from techs who hadn't seen a working "Blackbook" in a while. (I hadn't heard that name before.) I was told it was in excellent condition, other than being slow & not supporting a modern OS. I left with the hard drive & they'll handle the rest, nice! Sticker on hard drive said 2007.
Strange #TerraformingMars #boardgame moment: only needed one more temperature bump, but it was worth playing Deimos Down (which gives three) because I could pay for it entirely with otherwise-unused titanium and discounts, but an asteroid for the last bump would have cost money that I needed for other uses. This feels...abnormal. :-)
