US Senator #LindseyGraham is dead, following a short illness. Tragedy for his family and supporters, etc etc. Also a timely reminder to try to live your life in such a way that the primary reaction to your death wouldn’t be: “Good.” https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cvgj25j6nmeo

@gedeonm@mastodon.social A ceiling-mounted airer such as this one, coupled with a bit of central heating, does the job on most things overnight. For everything else there’s radiators or patience. 🙃

@jamesthomson@mastodon.social Been wearing the new watch strap for a few weeks now and I quite like it. The colours look bleached and washed out, much like Tim Cook’s soul in current year.

@panic@social.panic.com BE STILL MY BEATING HEART

The odds of #Cyprus’s chances of qualifying for the final fell off a cliff after last night’s jury preview. Remains to be seen whether the televote can carry Antigoni over the line. #Eurovision

@marcoarment@mastodon.social UNiDAYS integration has been a thing in the UK for many years now. These days I get a better discount buying from third-party retailers using a cashback card.

@jamesthomson Not only do I now feel extra dumb, I think I broke something

@jamesthomson Aaaaaargh the way I found my way to the keyboard before tooting, only to make a spelling mistake the first three times. This tells me I need to sleep. :Cat_Welp: 🫡

@jamesthomson I saw this toot a day late and darn it, you made me look (in the app).

@gedeonm@mastodon.social At this point I see her as a self-preservationist. The MAGA base got her elected, but also wants the Epstein files released. Her current stance might not win her points with the administration, but there’s a good chance it’ll get her re-elected next year.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social If it’s possible to combine and then separate transporter patterns, then it’s possible to copypaste transporter patterns and preserve all three. I will die on that transporter pad (and then rematerialise somewhere else).

@jvoorhees Someone once made a game called “Top 3 Solitaire” with just the right card graphics. I’ve never found a suitable replacement. Also I’m pretty sure I paid real money for the Monkey Island 1 & 2 remasters that will never be seen again on iOS/iPadOS. Thanks for nothing, LucasArts.

In somewhat related news, yesterday I finally lit the bonfire of garden waste, tree branches and other stuff, slowly accumulated over more than six years. We’d had more than 10mm of rain the day before, a fresh layer of snow had just melted into the ground, and the winds had died down enough, making for perfect (controlled) bonfire conditions. Only problem is that with so much to burn, most of it soaked through by multiple winters, I was stuck tending to it until after 2am this morning. 🥱

@feorag Even on the bird site I didn’t really feel exposed to a lot of the traumatic stuff… then again I didn’t have Local and Federated feeds to explore over there, and the “For You” section was always trash

@gedeonm@mastodon.social Getting a "Post pending" error on my instance on an iconfactory-dot-world post quoted by someone (that you boosted). Post appears fine on mastodon-dot-social. Might be worth looking into the quote settings on iconfactory-dot-world? https://mastodon.social/@lwdupont/116506196939562326

@gedeonm@mastodon.social I’ll go even further by saying that I’ve never owned a tumbledryer.
