I'm Cab and I'm a French-Canadian freelance illustrator and comic artist (Utown, Nuclear Winter, Pupilles) from Montreal, Canada. Currently working on a book about my undying love for sandwiches and inking a comic that can be described as "rive-sud cyberpunk". Open-source newb, expert AI hater.

@Roxanefutur@jasette.facil.services Le journaliste canadien Paris Marx tient à jour une rigoureuse liste d'alternatives aux plateformes américaines. Il est très vocal sur le sujet:

I love our home server. We have over 730 albums on there, for the vast majority purchased at one time in our lives. To my surprise, my partner is really into the few playlists I've made using our combined libraries. I feel I now have a moral duty to fluff those playlists by buying more music!
Quitting streaming services was such a good decision.
Late night sketching. I’m having a hard time drawing stuff like floating heads or characters not in a comic but hey, just holding a pencil feels nice on its own.
I take great joy in putting together art books every 2-3 years. When they are out of print, I make them available as digital versions. For the first time ever, I bundled them into one download. 122 pages of crisp ink drawings, doodles, concept art and sketches. It's my way to preserve my artistic DNA without hoarding sketchbooks. It would mean the world to me if you could check it out!

Kodemmacho station in Tokyo. This digital study was based off of a photo I took in 2018, when I visited Japan. A lot of the photos I took featured weird, utilitarian decors like this one, instead of you know, beautiful Japanese landmarks. I keep telling myself it's for future reference!

I FINALLY made a page solely for sketches on my website. There's no precise reason for it, I only felt like uploading years worth of doodles. Enjoy!
Now is a good time to subscribe to my newsletter because I have a lot of books/projects/events coming up. But the Cab Post is more than just self-promo: each month, I talk about stuff I enjoyed and I'm sure you'll find something you like in there as well. Subscribe to the newsletter or through RSS if you prefer :)
I never published the film photos I took last summer/winter so here's a few! I need to rekindle with photography, it's my goal in 2026!
My best of 2025 is here! https://cabfolio.com/photos/
I got some crazy good news about my next comic project and I've been watching a lot of cyberpunk movies. Read all about it in this month's recap!

One of my plan this fall is to migrate my website and portfolio from Wordpress to Astro. Anyone has good template/themes or advice before I dive head first into this?
I don't know HTML or CSS for shit, I'm fairly intimidated but I do have very competent friends to help out.
I had a lot of fun with this traditional commission!

The newsletter is a mirror of my monthly blog recap, which I only post in French. Both English and French newsletter have an RSS feed, just like the blog, so even if you don't subscribe by email, you can still get updates! Do whatever you want, my goal isn't to amass subscribers, but just have a good time online, away from algorithmic bullshit.
