Water butt level indicator project was a roaring success. Idea from a random internet blog I stumbled across a few weeks ago

Today's garden project progress
These things are not easy to put together. Happy to get most of the main structure together though. Hopefully complete it next weekend

Today's garden update
- gave the acer a prune as it was starting to spread over the small veg bed
- covered the lettuces over as an attempt to keep the slugs off while we're away for a few days
- post a pic of the completed greenhouse :)
- next project: make 2 more raised veg beds and 2 planters for the deck

And new bed no 2 - that's enough for today!
Thats all the major structural stuff for the area of the garden that used to all be raised decking. It should be a lot more productive from now on.

Fork handles you say?
I have discovered coffee frappés with whipped cream from Costa coffee and now I fear for my waistline
It's been a week of jam making. Big batch of home grown plum jam earlier in the week and then a batch of blackberry jam this afternoon after collecting over a kilo on our walk along the river this morning.
