Fun (?) fact: I'm increasingly turning to #MarginaliaSearch whenever I need to look stuff up.

Previously I pegged it as a search engine that is a cool idea but didn't index enough web to be useful.

But Marginalia is one of the only search engines that regularly surfaces up pre-2022 content.

So it's one of the only search engines now where I can reliably find information that isn't slop.

@matty@blahaj.zone @jenniferplusplus@hachyderm.io Yup! And I'm pretty sure human brains aren't actually built in ways that make it possible to process and pick out the errors in tonnes of nearly-right-but-not-quite information. Especially when slop is designed to look correct to humans.

The idea that you can solve LLM problems by checking the output enough is pure liability-washing
