Views from Mojave National Preserve: Kelso Sand Dunes, moon rising above Joshua trees before lunar eclipse, dusk, and Kelso depot.
View of Mt. San Gorgonio from the Cougar Crest Trail.
View from Arthur’s Seat, a volcanic core next to Edinburgh. Wind was so strong I couldn’t record at the very top and still stand.
Cactus gardens in the Mojave that remind me of the Superstition Wilderness in Arizona.
Miners lettuce, a red tail hawk eating a snake, and Mt. San Antonio (Baldy) and Big Dalton Dam as seen from the Coulter Pine trail.
California chorus frogs (I think) along the Mojave river. Sound up!
Cima Dome, Teutonia Peak, and a mine shaft. Most of the dense Joshua tree forest was killed by 2020 Dome wildfire that spread over 43k acres due in part to invasive cheat grass and probably climate change as well. Only a few trees had new growth.
The Mojave River surfaces in Afton Canyon.
