lol Rob just informed me that while I was sending hilarious messages about how Oran is a “poor oppressed minority in our wonderful three-way relationship” to our group chat, the nice lady at Specsavers had his phone in her hand trying to sort out his hearing aids. 😅

I’m 5 days back in iOS-land and it’s mostly smooth sailing, bar a few gestures that I’d gotten used to that don’t work on iOS. And I have finally stopped trying to fold my phone in half. 👍🏻
My iCloud backup had been deleted (they only keep them for 6 months or so, to the horror of one customer I spoke with when I worked for Apple Support whose only copy of some important photos was an iCloud backup) so I had to set this phone up from scratch, which is generally a good thing, fresh start, but also kind of annoying. I had my Home Screen set up how I liked it and can’t really remember the specifics. 😅 Ah well, whatever new version I come up with will be better.
Couldn’t figure out why Ivory looked wrong for ages. It was the accent colour! I always set stuff to Orange whenever I can. Much better now. ☺️
Only real frustration is that Irish carriers still don’t seem to support RCS on iOS, so I’m having to use Signal for chats with Android people in the UK again. Not the end of the world but annoying for sure.
While we were in Iceland, my parents had some friends come to stay at our house. One of them boiled the kettle without putting the whistle-thing down, and it boiled dry and got too hot, the bottom of the kettle is scorched black and the glass of the induction hob is discoloured like there's a layer of something deposited on it and no matter how much I scrub I can't get it clean. 😒 So bloody annoying!
Had a blast marching with the bears at Birmingham Pride today, great to meet some of the people from my phone! Especially @deadliftbear@mas.to who I thirst-followed on Twitter a million years ago and then found out what a lovely guy he is.
Bank holiday here today. We went to meet one of Rob's mom's friends for brunch and stopped at Marks & Spencers for picky bits for dinner later, sitting in the garden moving the patio furniture around to keep it in the shade. 🥵
Might be time for a medicinal G&T...
We're avoiding Rob's dad so we went to Tamworth for some retail therapy and a walk around the park.
Pretty sure people think one of us is Oran's dad until Rob gropes him. 😉
Rob had his first "official" event today, bear bus tour around Dublin with a few photo ops around the city with all the other bears.
Now we're chilling in a bar before we go to another bar for him to be presented to the gays of Dublin as Mr Bear Ireland.
I have a habit of freezing leftovers in a glass dish and then topping them with mashed potatoes to make a cottage pie type thing. It's always tasty but usually I can't be bothered to make mash so often I'll make more than I need for one meal and freeze the mash on top of the already frozen leftovers.
Well, I didn't have any topped stuff ready and I couldn't be arsed to make mash, but I had some shop-bought garlicky gratin and I used that on top of some beef stew and omg it's good. 😋
We're away in Birmingham, new dogsitter was able to unlock the smart lock no problem last night but it didn't work this morning. 🤔
I was able to unlock it remotely but I don't want to have to do that every time. I'll see how it goes today but might have to resort to... the spare key. 😖
User last week: "Can you help me set up an approval automation when someone submits this form I made?"
Me: "Sure, I'll do it when I get some time."
User today: "Ok I shared that form with the entire company, just wanted to confirm the automation is working."

Suddenly regretting my decision to switch to Vodafone based on their chat support.
My new phone arrived, I put the SIM in but it doesn't seem to be activated. Soni checked their help pages, it says to log in to My Vodafone and click My SIM and activate the SIM. But there's no My SIM option available.
So I get onto their chatbot, gave it all the info I think it needs including name, phone number, account number, the fact that I'm new customer porting a number in, and a description of the problem. It proceeded to ask me for that information again in a series of questions, so I answered, and then it told me to go and click the My SIM link and activate my SIM, so I told it again that I can't do that, and it put me through to a person who asked the same questions again, and then said:
"We see that your details was not matching and needs to be submitted as per your services provider account type is not pay as you go account unregistered. Let us know if your account is registered and you can login to account online?"
I had to ask for clarification but apparently the info I provided when I requested the port from my current provider doesn't match their records. But Jesus Christ, that sentence made no sense to me at all...
