Compared to the previous model, the rigging and topology have been improved from "utterly abysmal" to "okay" (I did the rigging manually this time, oh and also the tail makes use of bendy bones now) and I made a bunch of node groups to go all-in on the hue-shifted toon shaded look.

In Quake 2 I developed the habit of jumping while spamming the weapon wheel key so I keep getting a distorted hHuUuUh sound which is really funny
Feeling weird at the moment. It feels like I'm trying to be who I think I am rather than who I actually am. For example, I keep representing myself as a big fluffy derg because I think that represents me well, but I don't feel like anything is representing me much. I know I like it, but it doesn't feel like I do.
Was expecting the Firefox update to totally demolish the custom theme I have going on but no, all it did was add extra padding to a few places. Will be shrinking that right down when I get into the mood to dive into the debug tools to figure out what to change.
Picked up Quake 2 to get myself the hit of badassery I needed. Genuinely fun game, just as fun as Quake 1, if not more fun with the larger levels, interesting weapon roster (the chaingun feel sooo good) and more colorful look.

@gildilinie@beige.party It's a scrolling window manager where basically you can have as many windows as you want and scroll between them. Feels very nice to use because I don't have to care so much about window management or use the mouse so much.

Sometimes when I search up a question in a search engine it gives me results for the totally wrong question and and when I try to search up problems I'm having with Blender I mostly get old posts which are irrelevant to the latest version of Blender soooo yeeeah sometimes I just have to use AI to get what I want because there aren't any good search engines out there that I know of. It sucks that I have to do that but it's kinda necessary. I still prioritise search engine use though because search engines aren't completely borked.
Randomly took a shot at trying to replace HUD elements in Quake and yay it worked :D
It's pretty tough to do though but now I have a pipeline figured out.

@VAdaPEGA@chitter.xyz As much as I'd like to keep being dismissive whenever people say "everyone uses AI for everything nowadays", I've started to lose hope in the belief that such statements are false. It's pretty unfortunate that AI has gotten so widespread that stuff that doesn't use it has to be loud and proud about it because it goes to show that super corpo-powered slop machines have become the norm despite all of the numerous problems with it.

N64 style experiments

Then did my own tweaks to make it look more accurate to the N64 and passed it through ntsc-rs.
Brazilian Drug Dealer 3 made me realise just how fun it is to rocket jump with quad damage and invincibility because you can really go WHEEE and BDD3's maps are more open than Quake's so you can move around a lot more. Same holds up for Before 4.

Trying to search for cheat codes and came across a doc on scribd.com. Tried to copy the code I wanted and... why the hell is copying text a paid feature!? It's literally right there! On my screen! Let me copy it! At least it's a short string so I'm not too bothered but this is such a braindead feature. Sure, there's a free trial, but only idiots would find it acceptable to create an account just to copy text that's right in front of them with seemingly no strings attached. Inspect element doesn't seem super feasable because there's some weird obfuscation going on in the text but it's actually just a substitution cipher that's consistent across all elements on the page. Still though, I'm mega peeved that such stuff like this exists out there and is actually being held up. I bet all of those AI features are the only reason why that website is even still up in the first place (please pop the bubble already).
Is it just me or did the "follow hashtag" option when clicking a hashtag get moved up to the top? I swear my muscle memory got screwed with.

@eblu@wetdry.world So tired of having underage users blocked out of otherwise SFW spaces. It's kinda more like discrimination than protection really since really smart kids who know their stuff (e.g. me) do exist alongside grown adults who have deteriorated mental capacity. I recently signed up to Fur Affinity to share my art but I'm just afraid of doing anything on it because of the whole minors DNI deal. Like, some person's art looks cool and completely SFW and all I can see on their profile is SFW but they're still blocking me out??? And some people even go to the point of explicitly hating <18 users which is really not nice.
