@jonty@chaos.social Italian heat is frying my brain or I'd hopefully have phrased that better. I wanted to say that there is probably no useful application besides some program manager being able to brag that they added more AI to Maps...

@jonty@chaos.social I'd say this might be rather harmful.

Personally, and mainly because I did not enough think about this enough previously, I was very surprised by the mention of artificial intelligence in Douglas Adam's Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency.

Light colors fooled me, especially greens. I'm marking this down to my display not being able to display these nuances, never ever my eyes (note that this sentence contains sarcasm)

@RickiTarr Yes. Apart from that, thank you for your alt text. I don't need one, but every so often, alt text improves the artwork for everyone.

The Microsoft and Entra ID Security Roundtable at @WEareTROOPERS@infosec.exchange #troopers24 had so great discussion and content. Also, a very cool event, literally, as the AC was working for about ten times the attendees 🥶

@DavidJBianco@infosec.exchange I had a gift link in my timeline to the WA Post about this, so admittedly, I did not read this story and base my comment on the Post article.
While the solution is found, I'd argue the puzzle itself was not solved. As one of the Kryptos enthusiasts in the story said, it's also about finding and understanding the solution as much as it's about the solution itself.
This is a great reminder that security not only relies on good algorithms or designs, but also on the fact that there is no backdoor or alternative route to discover the cleartext.
I love that these people discovered the solution *actually* hiding in plain sight.
If the documents in the Smithsonian archive had not been sealed, I'd now wonder how many people had discovered this and either kept quiet or signed the NDA .... 🤔
