I'm Gen X and yes, there were mental health issues before the internet!! My first experience was in 1982. "You are not a problem to be fixed, or a burden to be carried, and you should never have to keep your mental health a secret." Love that.

Nollaig na mBan shona daoibh. I have a couple of lovely memories of being with my small sister, mother, aunt and my gran, (my father's mother). Gran and my aunt with have a wee drop of creme de menthe and we'd have Xmas cake and it was unusually relaxed. #NollaigNamBan
One of the most important articles on #MentalHealth services, iatrogenic harm and #EatingDisorders I've ever read

My father's first cousin, Florence O'Sullivan, was the last blacksmith in Kerry. He died 27 December. My grandmother grew up in the house. I have some lovely memories of visiting Boolteens as a small child. https://www.independent.ie/regionals/kerryman/news/tributes-to-kerrys-last-blacksmith-the-light-from-his-forge-was-a-lighthouse-in-our-village-42264094.html
Went to see Everything Everywhere All At Once last night and I loved it. No words. It was just fun and confusing and just the right film for my brain at the moment.
I've been dipping in and out of social media to find out what's going on with the gender recognition reforms in the Scottish Parliament. The transphobia and awful tactics eg filibuster of various MSPs are appalling. I can't bear it at times. #GRRBill #TransRights

Way back in 1916, Antonio Gramsci wrote "I hate New Year's Day"
"So the date becomes an obstacle, a parapet that stops us from seeing that history continues to unfold along the same fundamental unchanging line, without abrupt stops, like when at the cinema the film rips and there is an interval of dazzling light."

Had my hair cut yesterday. Spent a lot of this morning so far rubbing very short hair at the back and sides and playing with the slightly longer bit on top. It's the simple things!

Today so far - read an academic paper for the first time in weeks, went to aquafit, then had coffee before going to therapy, had lunch in a new vegan place, did ordinary food shopping, saw a heron on the Water of Leith, and now home. Just one day, very ordinary and very special.
