@jwz@mastodon.social Fun fact I learned recently for anyone wanting to take a look: SF does their own aerial flyovers of the city every year or so, with multiple photos and angles of most city addresses. Here’s DNA Lounge: https://gis.sf.gov/ipa/?lat=37.7711&lon=-122.41263

@gameshack_@infosec.exchange AI is not an abstraction and code completion does not make decisions for you.

@brentsimmons Clearly your content is S̸͕̖͖̫̖̤̔͊̐̽͊̆̐̏̉̈́͗͘e̷̛͎͈̫͇̺̞̯̊̓̂́̔ā̴̤͚͔͎̠͖͚̑́͘ͅṙ̸͍̳̼̦̙͔͙̙̳͙̎̄̅̎̌͊̈́̈̏̈̃̾̕͜͝͝c̸̢͕͖̹͈̱̱̰̘̬͈̆͐̽́͂̾͋͛̒̓̃ḩ̸̢̪͉̰̩̦̩̹͍̑̆̊͂̌́̆̔͝.

@stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social @playdate@social.panic.com Good.

@b0rk@social.jvns.ca I don’t like LLMs, but I’ve used Gemini for fuzzy searches that would be very difficult with traditional Google semantics. For example, “find articles discussing obscure law X that also mention potential caveats Y and Z.” It’s not a panacea but I’ve found leads that I would have definitely otherwise missed.

@gameshack_@infosec.exchange To be honest, I'm not sure if I ever actually have. Usually I read the code and rewrite it in my own words. Maybe for shell scripts? But I still want to understand what every line is doing, since code on SO is of... uh... middling quality. (And I usually find mistakes when I go through this process.) With that said, it would be nice to have an actual public, fully open source, license-respecting LLM someday. Not sure if the incentives are there for that, though.

@tuomas_h I laughed out loud. That is some quality ass jank.

@gedeonm@mastodon.social That looks awesome! By the way, is there a canonical place to submit feature requests?

@mwichary@mastodon.online I tried to make a degausser app at one point but got sidetracked by getting employed… feel like I’ve seen an implementation float by somewhere since then.
