I've tried a couple times to nail down exactly why this is and what I'm landing on today is "I find it less interesting to work without conditions and branches". Like, OM is turing complete but the inputs are static so it doesn't even have to be. I prefer the games where you have to compute something
Kaizen is also like OM in this respect but I found the optimization more fun there personally

@saraphim@angelpictur.es @IntrepidVector@glaceon.social I was watching a youtube video from a channel about lego where they were talking about a technique where you used raised studs to artificially create a new grid that's rotated relative to the main grid, so you can have a building that's not perfectly aligned with your city or whatever. Because you can do it in such a way that the hypotenuse of the right triangles you're creating are integers, it can be done without putting stress on the bricks, etc etc
And I just remembered that they called the technique the "sugar grid" because of it looks like the optimal way to farm sugar cane in minecraft

One time we planned to breed a bunch of Delibird and then Wonder Trade them out on Christmas day. The game had only been out for like a month so we knew that there would be a lot of kids playing it for the first time because they just got it for Christmas. The reason we ended up not doing it is that we realized how cruel it would be to make some poor new trainer have to discover, on Christmas, what it's like to use Delibird
