Due to the way my setup works with nginx-proxy, two things I need to do to set up my own fedi instance: redirect web finger requests, and host a static web FE, that would normally be done with nginx, I'm tempted to do directly in the app that runs my blog. Because the blog app is deployed at the root and is just a container, and nginx-proxy handles everything magically, it's actually easier to add logic to the app (redirect, host static pages) than it is to write custom nginx config.

Love the redundancy here. I suspect in the UK a visionary exec had those extra generators repurposed for short term profit, paid out a huge dividend, moved on to a new job, the government has to buy it back, and then there's meltdown and decades of damage in a blackout.
