Helping customers sorry out the problems they had from confusing feet and US survey feet took more of my life than I want to admit. Also historically far from the only survey foot. If you have a systemic error in your survey data the easiest way to fix it is to change the unit.

@norootcause I voted for neither, but I can see some sort of path by which QC becomes practical for some situations. Technically I think fusion is already totally practical, it’s just we can’t switch the thing on and off, and solar panels really only collect a tiny proportion of the output.

@lordofthemoon@mastodon.scot reference manuals for operating system APIs were best. Those were normally several volumes, so you could reasonable treat them as ammunition. I reckon you could defend a bunker for days with The Definitive Guide to X Windows System, and it didn't even cover everything.
