@woffs@fe.disroot.org @leeleedee@mstdn.dk vanilla Mastodon is so basic-ass* it nearly makes more sense in CLI. *actually, GoToSocial, snac2 or Mitra go even further, into minimalism.

@WinNT4 @chatcontrol Don't despair, there are still networking protocols outside WWW that are still going to work more or less - Gopher, I2P, Reticulum, Yggdrasil and so on

@CyReVolt @nina_kali_nina Some of the man pages of OpenBSD were written by a trans woman, but a few people in the community seem more or less transphobic; met once on SimpleX a self-described "OpenBaSeD" fanboy who insisted on theorizing that Qubes' founder is woman and kept deadnaming her... Sigh. At least the people on BSD Cafe seem chill... As for NetBSD... When I saw that flag, I knew there would have to be at least a Pride flag version of it!! Otherwise, don't know what to say... I wanted to adopt NetBSD, but the janky (at least at first glance) package management made me reconsider.

@CyReVolt NetBSD has this thing called the rump kernel you might want to learn about. As for declarative services supervisors, maybe somebody one day will do a BSD fork and replace its init with something like dinit.

@iguana09863 @chatcontrol I2P and also Yggdrasil and Reticulum. Not many on them for now, but soon they're going to be useful

@KeimiKoshi @chatcontrol Wake up, there's no such thing as free speech on X or Bluesky, I don't nevessarily recommend mastodon.social either
