@wenwizzle@tweesecake.social I say that's insane. I can't remember a reader app I've used that didn't do that. Yeesh! It's a core feature, for goodness sake. And really, it kind of does impact your work if you've got to spend time finding the last place you stopped reading every time you go back in. yuck!

@ellane@pkm.social I've been wearing bone conduction headphones for what seems like forever. They were really the only good option to wear headphones and hear what was going on around you before everyone got so clever with transparency mode. I still wear them as my daily drivers because battery life is a lot better than earbuds generally.

@ellane@pkm.social I have to admit my use of noise cancelling is very, very limited. Being stuck in a small space I can't easily leave with a vacuum cleaner or trying to listen to something while someone else is watching something are about it, and only if I'm somewhere I feel safe. Blocking off the world as a totally blind person is a bit nerve wracking, ☺️, but it did come in handy when my son, my husband and I were all living in a smallish caravan.
