I spoke with some IT students about their jobs outside of class. Just a few years ago most were working at IT companies, mostly startups, here in Berlin. Today they are flipping burgers and manning the cash registers at Lidl. What a waste of talent, just because companies think that AI will solve all of their IT problems.

Not just Norway! Many European countries also have free healthcare, free college, parental leave, and more. It’s necessary to have a well-educated, healthy population that doesn’t fall for fascists…

Nutzt die PIN AG Pferdekutschen oder haben sie extra Lagerhallen für die Zwischenlagerung angemietet? Briefe aus den USA oder Schweden sind schneller da!

There's an open source system that is similar to Slack, Mattermost. It can run on your own servers, so no one is harvesting your text.

I wrote to the "author", he felt he was not able to use AI and didn't know how this sentence got in there. Right. Amen! I keep speaking about this, and have to keep disciplining myself not to slide into using human-like terms when speaking about the bot.
I just finished reading the "Stochastic Parrot" article by @emilymbender et al. yesterday. The paper is from early 2021 but they clearly see that anthropomorphizing is going to be a big danger (and explain how the dang things work and where the bias comes from).

That's cool if it works, but doesn't that mean using the copyrighted text *again* to erase it? That would normally also have to be licensed.... Or if the material is CC-SA then the entire code and database need to be shared ;)

CC-SA means 'share alike'. Anything that uses it must also be put under a share alike license. So there is no concept of fair use. In Europe a suit could stand s good chance of winning damages.
