Do you use Wikibase, standalone or in the cloud? @wikimediaDE@social.wikimedia.de is looking to hear from you in this survey - as well as recruiting Wikibase.Cloud users for interviews about the future of the platform - see the strategic plan outlined at https://lists.wikimedia.org/hyperkitty/list/wikibase-cloud@lists.wikimedia.org/thread/5XOVK76ZL6IMX55JSWRUYJMKZ35VSKRL/ for why this may be relevant to you. From @david_soraluze@mastodon.eus:

@wbstakeholders@mastodon.social and https://www.DARIAH.EU are exploring the possibilities of providing professional support to @Wikibase@wikis.world users in the #DigitalHumanities and #GLAM context.

The first step is a survey in order to find out whether there is a critical mass of users in that community. Please consider taking part in the survey, also if you are not in DH/GLAM: https://www.dariah.eu/2024/06/04/dariah-eu-and-wikibase-stakeholder-group-launch-survey-on-linked-data-software-solutions/

Yesterday the National Archives of Belgium launched https://resistanceinbelgium.be, a wikibase hosting data on individuals involved in the Belgian Resistance during World War II.

The first dataset has already gone live; more is to be added. The site is based on a pilot project by CegeSoma, a centre focusing on 20th century conflicts: https://cegesoma.be/en/project/wikibase-resistance

Source code for the #wikibase front-end created with the help of @ProWiki@wikis.world is available at https://github.com/archbelgium/resistanceinbelgiumBeHomepage

We hope to see you at January's Wikibase user group meeting in three and a half hours at 16:00 UTC: https://meet.jit.si/WikibaseLiveSession

The main topic of discussion will be the improvement of Wikibase.cloud's draft hosting policy, after WMDE's response to feedback from the community.

Details and relevant links in the notes: https://etherpad.wikimedia.org/p/WBUG_2026_01_29

As usual, remaining time can be used for questions and items of interest from the community. If time permits there'll be discussion of the pending 2025 report.
