Tropical Storm #Arthur has formed near the Texas coastline. Heavy rainfall and flash flooding to be the main concerns for southern and coastal areas of #Louisiana, #Mississippi, and the #Florida Panhandle. On average, the first named storm typically forms in mid to late June. #wx

#Venezuela is no stranger to strong earthquakes given its proximity to the Caribbean plate. Since 1641 it has experienced six quakes measuring at least magnitude 7. The strongest #earthquake on record for Venezuela occurred on March 26, 1812 (7.7M). Estimated 20,000 lives lost.

Moderate (50%) chance for development this week. Moisture moving into the Gulf could form into a system. Land interaction combined with moderate upper level wind shear will give this system a challenge though. Parts of the western #Gulf Coast can anticipate some rain at least.#wx
