Now posted to YouTube is the video of Sunday's game, session 3 of The 13th Icon campaign, DMed by @Princejvstin@wandering.shop and played with the sidequesting crew of @Kathleen_LRR@mastodon.social and me, after our separation from the rest of the party!

Thank you to @NerdsofaFeather@wandering.shop for including me on a longlist of fan writers to consider nominating for awards, and thanks to the several people who've told me that they intend to nominate me for a Hugo! Spurred on by this, I've finally written an eligibility post about some of my favorite reviews that I wrote last year. https://whatsthewordnow.blogspot.com/2026/03/eligibility-for-2026-best-fan-writer.html

@gutenberg_org@mastodon.social Might this partly be due to selective bias? is there any data on the ratio of happy journal-keepers vs. unhappy journal-keepers in the general population?

@MaryAustinBooks@mstdn.social Oh! I remember now that when the Rev. Jesse Jackson visited my high school in North Carolina, he led us all in a call-and-response of "I AM ... (I am!) SOMEBODY! (somebody!)"

I'm super excited to see that the Lovecraft Investigations podcast is crowdfunding for another season! I loved the show when it was on BBC Radio 4!
"The Call of Cthulhu is going to be the start of Volume 2 of the story. In Volume 1, Kennedy Fisher and Matthew Heawood started out investigating the disappearance of Charles Dexter Ward... If you enjoyed the first four seasons, you're going to love where we're going next." (But CoC will serve as an onhramp for new listeners.)
