The Toronto 2600 meetup is tonight, and we’re hosting. 6 PM, Victory Cafe, 440 Bloor St. W.
(Usually they occur on the first Friday of the month, but they have agreed to list us as happening on the second Monday of the month.)
The upcoming Monday is the first Monday of the month (first Monday of the year!), which means, STICKERS CLUB! https://luma.com/ozlbvyhw
Is brain rot real? Why don’t you read a paper about it and join us this upcoming Monday at Victory Cafe, 440 Booor St. W. here in Toronto for the monthly @papersclub@fedihum.org edition, where we will discuss it? The Luma listing has a link to the paper: https://luma.com/qgvt730u
We’ve chosen the paper for @papersclub@fedihum.org next week (February 23rd): “Hallucinating with AI: AI Psychosis as Distributed Delusions” by Lucy Osler.
(Is it this Lucy Osler: @lucyosler@zirk.us? We think so!)
We’ll have copies to give out tonight (6 PM, Victory Cafe, 440 Bloor St. W. Here in Toronto) and there’s a PDF link at https://arxiv.org/abs/2508.19588
For @papersclub@fedihum.org this coming Monday, we will discuss Barbara L. Fredrickson’s paper “The broaden-and-build theory of positive emotions.” A PDF is available at the following link: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC1693418/
By all accounts, our LibreLocal meetup last night was a big success. Quite a few new connections were made. We’re grateful to the @fsf@hostux.social for their promotion and sponsorship of some of the pizzas. #LibreLocal
At @papersclub@fedihum.org on April 27th, we will be discussing “The Tyranny of Structurelessness” by Jo Freeman. We will have printed copies available this coming Monday. All of the relevant links are available at the Luma link: https://luma.com/d2tbvbza
Tonight, we will have a few printed copies of the paper we will discuss next week at @papersclub@fedihum.org. If there are any left when you get here, you can have one. The link to the paper is below, and the Papers Club Edition will take place on January 25th.
Tonight’s edition of Tech Pizza Monday is a regular edition. 6 PM, Victory Cafe, 440 Bloor St. W. You have a week from now to read the paper!
