@bw@social.lol I would suggest she learn some basics of coding so she can get into things like Codex or Claude Code, that way she can get an appreciation for how exactly the programs work that are being vibe-coded. That will give her some exposure to different languages so she can decide what toolchain she's most interested in using (say, something light like Rust or heavy like Visual Studio tools, for example).

@munchkinbear @TheQuinbox @Jonathan @BTyson All I can tell is it does some fuckery with Trusted Installer impersonation, passing shit around in Base64-encoded commands. But other than that? There's a shit ton of code that's hard to follow because of complex bitwise operations, fucking with offsets, stuff like that.

@TheQuinbox @Jonathan @BTyson You could also incorporate features in future versions to do stuff like remove all the local AI stuff from a Windows installation. See, e.g., https://github.com/zoicware/RemoveWindowsAI for one possible implementation. Hint: I did this, and my memory usage has been cut almost in half on a daily basis.

@munchkinbear @TheQuinbox @Jonathan @BTyson Since I haven't ever run that script before, and couldn't understand a lot of its trickery using nested PowerShell functions (yes, I did attempt to read the script before executing it), I ran it with the backup option just to make sure it wouldn't break my system.

@munchkinbear @TheQuinbox @Jonathan @BTyson I know what it does, I wanted to try and understand *how* it did it before I ran it. Because I don't just run arbitrary code on my systems, even if a bunch of people on the Internet link to it and say it does what they say it does. LOL

@munchkinbear @TheQuinbox @Jonathan @BTyson I'm too lazy to spin up a VM, go through the Windows installation process, try to figure out how to get a hypervisor to transfer keyboard input to the guest machine...LOL. So I do code audits. To the best of my ability anyway.

@jcsteh @tailscale Okay, I hear about Tailscale in various places, but can someone give me a TLDR of what its purpose is? Best I can figure out, it's some sort of reverse proxy that handles HTTPS transparently, but that's about all I can figure out.
