#Shipwreck timbers were, by necessity, frequently used in #Orkney architecture, but I never expected to find them in my own house. Whilst doing some window work, we uncovered patches of white harl, harkening back to the 17/18 c name Quhythouse (White House), and some substantial timber lintels with diagonally-spaced through-holes, one with a sheared-off trunnel still inserted.

@BrianJopek@mastodon.world I've had bibles waved during commander's calls, been released from duty for Christian holidays, opened mandatory fun with a 'non-denominational' (yet somehow always Christian) invocations, and been reminded at every turn that gawd is on our side.
While the force writ large is increasingly No Pref, the officer corps remains in the grip of a persistent fundie infestation.
Good luck making your accession numbers when women, Black, Latinx, LGBTQ, and No Prefs stop showing up.
@bampot@mastodon.scot @JackTheCat@mastodon.scot We had a carload come over last summer. A ferry crew member put a tip-off on the island fb page. No one answered their doors that day.
Now *that's* doing a public service!
@arnapou@phpc.social @ramsey@phpc.social Several years into playing on and off, I now recognise that the 'main quest' Artemis/Apollo/Atlas story line is a giant tutorial level. It must be completed to unlock the full range of capabilities.
Once complete, you're free to roam around its 14.8 x 10^18 possible planets in whichever manner you like.
I found this wiki to be helpful in those times I was confused or at a seeming dead end.

@HeavenlyPossum This is either a hollow feint or they're determined to repeat the failures of the VDV air assault on Kyiv Hostomel.
Bonus: they're giving the Iranians several weeks notice to harden the target.
