Side projects is a bit of a stretch, but trying to get more use out of various things i've already kind of dipped my toes into.
I've got a prusa mk4s that i finally got working (had to add some shielding to the control data cable to protect it from the motors) and i want to get more use out of it, but figuring out where to start with that has kind of fallen on the wayside, so probably a good start would be designing a decent sized printing enclosure.
I also want to put more practice into silver smithing, as i cast various coins and stuff with silver...mostly cause it's fun and to give to certain friends at no cost
Annnd finally i need to get a hot air rework station to work on replacing some joysticks on a controller....i really love the old wii U pro controllers, but they're really subject to drift, and i need to get some xbox or similar stick modules that should be compatible....

So sick and tired of my luck lately.
I'm already dealing with a slowly worsening injury of a 6x6mm interstitial tear in a tendon on the side of my right foot, for which we're planning surgery for near the end of the year (ideally after MFF). I've got an appointment literally today for a custom brace to help that for the next few months.
But on top of that, since last Friday, i think i've been dealing with a bout of gout on that same foot, so my big toe joint and also the front third of my foot is slightly swollen XP
It's all rather infuriating....the tendon pain is being managed more or less by a cortisol shot, and i'm hoping that lasts way longer than is reasonable, but would be grand for how effective it is.....
but at the same time, i have to be getting my house cleaned up and plan for next year, when i'll only be able to get around on a knee scooter, cause of keeping weight off the right foot.......
I'm rambling XP.....this all is just so much to process and deal with....i keep just asking....could i just have a normal year for once....but that won't happen for at least another year and a half XP

Welp....
Had my MRI on saturday for my sore ankle........and just got the results this morning....
6x6 mm tear in a tendon, and a quote, "Osteochondral lesion".......fuckin language nerds docs are.......
Basically......i probably need surgery later this year......
For now....more PT tomorrow.....annnd a doctors visit Wednesday.....and i leave for Anthrocon next week....
FUN TIMES.
Hate property taxes.....i'm already limited on my work capability for the moment because my right foot is trying to tear itself apart.......i own my car but hey sure, here's some more fucking money that i barely have..........
I just want a single year where shit isn't going sideways in some way or another......
