Redid my latte portrait to make it look more like what I originally had in mind for the concept. By the way, I've still got plenty of slots open for these (and I have an urgent goal to meet): http://ko-fi.com/c/f4bcbbb02f

Hi. I draw stuff.
Now serving up fresh, piping hot digital latte portraits. Just the thing for those crisp Autumn mornings. Order up here: https://ko-fi.com/c/f4bcbbb02f
Wing-it comm for Xeechu. Valka cools off on a hot summer day, dragon-style
"New Characters" Wing-its - OPEN
Doing a very special round of wing-it commissions this month, with an extra big discount. $100 off the usual price, but there's a catch: it has to be for a character I've never drawn before. (If it's two characters, then one can optionally be a character I've drawn before, but the other one has to be new to me.)
With discounts applied, that comes to $50 for one OC, $150 for two. If you've never gotten art from me (or you've just never gotten art from me of that one particular OC), this is a great time to get it. I'll be starting on this wave as soon as I finish the current batch (which is almost done). However, I'm opening the queue for early signups right NOW, right here: https://tally.so/r/J9GG4r
Since last Autumn I've been quietly tinkering on a Raspberry Pi (funded entirely by my fanbase, thank you all so much) and teaching myself Linux concepts. I'll never be an expert in this stuff, but I know enough to do system operations and maintenance now, install and update packages, diagnose basic problems, etc etc. I've hardened the firewall to the best of my knowledge, I have basic filesharing across the LAN, I've automated apt updates, and I have a few little helper scripts running.
The biggest project so far has been adding an alpha build of PostyBirb 4 and configuring it to run headlessly. I've done a successful automated post from the Pi, and I plan on having it automate more posts once I have a backlog of art to share. Not having to do this from my main workbox makes it a little easier, and I have plans to build more helper stuff for the server. (Carefully, slowly, and with the documentation at the ready, haha.)
Pirate Kya Adopt: https://ko-fi.com/s/3bc271293c
This adopt is a member of the Kyacaotl species from the Hayven Celestia universe, created by Rick Griffin and Gre7g Luterman. The design is entirely original to me.
Despite my best efforts, I'm still about $500 short of goal, and I'm low on time here. I've got various inexpensive options in my shop (https://ko-fi.com/jonasdrawsstuff/commissions), or if you want a custom quote, feel free to reach out using my contact form (https://tally.so/r/mONy8M).
I figured out (through a lot of trial and error) how to set up SSH from VS Code to the RPi. This plus the VPN will let me code from anywhere I want. (I know I can do that anyway with Github, but this is for stuff that would only ever run on/for the Pi, so there's no real need to create an online repository.)
Essentially everything I'm creating right now is for learning purposes. My specific direction for the near future is simple scripts that will enhance my life in small ways, like a customized commissions-bot that people can individually poke for status updates, things like that.
Opening general commissions until my goal is met. For specific quotes/inquiries, please contact me via my Contact Form: https://tally.so/r/mONy8M
Hey, everybody watching me
Tell me about a cool side project you've got going on. It has to be something you're not doing for mоney at all, just for fun
If you don't have one, tell me about one you want to do
I'm about $300 short of this month's goal. I have discount wing-its open for "Mayternity" (which is pregnancy-themed if you're not familiar with it, although I'm aiming for tasteful). There are a few slots left if anyone wants one: https://tally.so/r/w7kaEz
Or if folks just want to chip in with donations, it's greatly appreciated: https://ko-fi.com/jonasdrawsstuff
Hey, audience of mine. Would you be willing to crowdfund one of these for me? Throne lets you chip in with small amounts if you want, like $5 or whatever. https://throne.com/jonasdoesstuff/item/72772817-3abc-4b3a-8e7a-1533075b249d
(if not, no worries, this isn't a dire or urgent need)
Rewatched the pilot of Tron: Uprising in VR last night with a few friends who hadn't seen it. It really crystallized for me what I liked about the original (and didn't like about the sequel media).
I could wall-o-text about it, but the crux for me is this: a good sequel/prequel complements the original thesis. It doesn't repeat itself (other than maybe a few winks to the audience), and it doesn't try to *overstuff* itself with new meaning. (Some is fine, but too much and it might as well be a completely unrelated story.) A good sequel is the kind of thing where most of the audience would at least agree "Yeah, I could see those characters progressing in that direction," even if they might disagree on the details or the way the idea is executed.
I think there's also an ideal time window for sequels, but maybe I'll pick that one up in another post.
