Imagine if in 1980 IBM had partnered with Digital Research instead of Microsoft.
Gary Kildall might become the era’s Bill Gates, CP/M could emerge as the PC standard with “CP/M Compatible” badges replacing “Windows Compatible.”
GEM might be the default GUI, Gates is a typical software vendor and Microsoft Office never rules business. Would computing culture change or mostly end up the same?

@europlus@social.europlus.zone On a more serious note until I saw that it was the hard disk image from the E-Maculation site, I actually genuinely thought of the malware I was testing out got out but then I remembered I had no shared drives, nor did I even have a copy of nVIR. I only had Scores locked away so I kinda panicked when I saw stuff about malware 🥲

Well, I think this Packard Bell I’ve been trying to fix is a lost cause given that I found out about the capacitor plague stuff… better of just putting it back on the shelf because I don’t think it’s worth the effort trying to solder new caps on when I have no knowledge.
Even if this means just tossing the motherboard as I think most other parts can be reused
I don't know if this is a bit of a stretch but I need to find a replacement for my guestbook I can selfhost that works with docker.
I currently use smartgb for my site but that's not really a docker container but rather something online.
I've seen a few on docker hub but wonder if someone else knows something better?
