ReNature Ldn

Some snaps from today's volunteer day, where we were also joined by a few from Mossy Earth who'd had a members' meetup event here yesterday. #HackneyMarshes #RenatureLdn

Last Saturday saw the first of our three planned ecology walks this summer, around Butterfield Green in #Hackney with participants from the user group and from our networks braving the heatdome conditions. #RenatureLdn 3/4

...and a sneak peak at the site of our next big project on #HackneyMarshes which we're all very excited about, it being a long time in the making. Upcoming around the middle of August, announcement soon.

Four snaps from last Sunday's tree and ecology walk around Digby Crescent and our new rain garden led by @TreeRuss@ecoevo.social. #renatureLdn

The second of our three ecology and tree walks this summer, in the area around our new rain garden in Digby Cresent, #Hackney will take place on Sunday 19th from 11:00. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/digby-crescent-ecology-tree-walk-tickets-1989837630919 Rain garden case study: https://renatureldn.uk/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Hackney-Digby-Crescent_project-statement-1.pdf #RenatureLdn 4/4.

We enjoyed some great lunchtime conversations in the shade of the poplars ranging from how to tell a native black poplar from a hybrid to what an entomologist might feel about Pharoah Ants and cockroaches in council tower blocks and bedbugs on London buses and the Underground, with so many Latin names sprinkled liberally in between. And with much chat about invasive water plants from as far afield as Brazil, bream spawning and the pollution in the Old River Lee aka Lea. 2/4

And upcoming this Sunday, our regular last Sunday of the month volunteer day on #HackneyMarsheshttps://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/renature-regular-volunteer-day-tickets-1991770587444 #RenatureLdn

Hurry up now that #SolarpunkSunday's been and gone! https://kolektiva.social/@rooftopjaxx/116951095709308505 Meanwhile here's @TreeRuss@ecoevo.social holding forth about a cherry tree and it's scars and parasites and so on. How all those holes in its leaves were probably caused by little cankers, all of the good stuff. #renatureLdn

Start and end points of today's Tree and Ecology Walk at Digby Crescent. We make no actual claims to be Soilpunks - as a subset of Solarpunk - but in honour of #SolarpunkSunday more photos to follow by the end of our day.
