@Kurt@chaos.social I'm afraid it's a far deeper issue. Display no longer works; when it first happened, I could feel haptic feedback when holding the power button, likely the haptics from the power options menu appearing, but no longer does. That was my only indication for signs of life, after that, no more haptic feedback, even after trying to "reboot" it, guessing if I actually did, waiting a reasonable amount of time it would take to boot, try opening the power menu to feel any feedback, and feel nothing.

@millie@infosec.exchange I'm okay with programs being updated to accommodate for dependencies but otherwise not changing how the core program works. Especially if some of those dependencies are paramount for security. For example, version 4.2.0-69, where 69 is how many times dependency updates were applied to this version.

For example, not updating the program anytime a dependency is updated, but maybe once every few months or when a critical security bug fix is available.
What if there was a #FOSS self-hosted disposable email service that anyone can host? You’d still need to purchase the domain names to spin your own up, of course, but imagine a fleet of disposable email websites that use the same server software that anyone can pick and choose which instance to go to. This may even be possible to host an instance on a .onion website on Tor. And the decentralized nature of this means that if one goes down, there are others that people can switch to immediately.
